This entire
website encompasses the various aspects
of my philosophy of ministry. To view
the foundational statements of faith
that under gird my philosophy please
review my
statement of
faith page. I believe
the Church has been commissioned
by Christ to take His Message to the
world. As we carry out His
Kingdom work, we should expect and
desire the presence of the Holy Spirit.
He provides power for ministry by
bestowing spiritual gifts and
manifesting signs and wonders.
The Church
must be focused intently on Christ's
commission. To accomplish this, I
have found the model given by Rick
Warren on purpose-driven ministry to be
very helpful. If we focus on
worship,
evangelism,
fellowship,
discipleship,
and
ministry
in a balanced strategic way, the church
can remain healthy and effective. To
review a few brief statements about
each of the above purposes, click on
one of the links above.
It's
important for me to:
-
continue to
present the Gospel message in relevant
ways
-
devote
myself to being a "living reminder" of
Christ as I serve His Church
-
equip the
body for the work of the ministry by
modeling, teaching, and training them
through servant leadership
-
lead with
humility, compassion, and love, and
strive earnestly to keep unity in the
body.
-
strive to
pastorally shepherd and care for the
people entrusted in my care.
If I could
summarize my philosophy into a mission
statement, it would go something like
this:
Mission:
To develop and equip a fully-devoted community of
worshippers who are maturing
spiritually and serving the
mission of the Church, both within the
church and in strategic outreach and
evangelism, through the empowerment of
the Holy Spirit.
