I was born
in Hattiesburg, Mississippi on April
16, 1969. My dad and mom (Jerry
and Carol Simon) were foreign
missionaries for the first 8 years of
my life--during which time we lived in
Fort Portal, Uganda for a 3 year term
and Taiwan for a 3 year term.
I have one older brother (Greg) and one
younger sister (Kim). After
returning from the mission field, my
parents pastored churches in
Mississippi, Louisiana, and Alabama.
My father passed away in August of
1993. My mom and older brother still
pastor in Huntsville, Alabama.
I attended
college at Oral Roberts University
majoring in music. During my
sophomore year, I met Stephanie, my
wife, and shortly after we both
graduated in 1991, we were married. After
our wedding, we remained in Tulsa as
I continued my education in seminary.
I graduated in 1994 and returned home
to Huntsville, Alabama, where I served
in ministry from 1994-2002.
During these years, Stephanie and I
added three children to our family:
Garrison, Audrey, and Natalie. I
also completed a Doctor of Ministry
degree and Stephanie completed a
Masters in Christian School
Administration from ORU in 1999 through
several years of short-term on campus
modules and additional course work.
In October
of 2002, I transitioned in ministry to
a church in Stafford, VA, where I served
as associate pastor until October of
2004. I am presently seeking
God's direction for my next phase of
ministry.
