Keeping a ministry running smoothly involves finding the right people who have a gift of administration.  Over my years of ministry, God has helped me to cultivate my gift of administration in significant ways.

Early in my career as a Christian School Principal and as a staff pastor, my wife and I set out to organize and streamline several inefficient systems in the school.  We automated the entire school management process by building a network infrastructure that allowed for accounting, grades, student records, and all the other school files to be managed through computers.  We expanded and reorganized our student and faculty handbooks, became proactive in managing inventories of textbooks, supplies, and furnishing, and made sure that the school and church complied with all local and federal laws regarding human resource issues.

In the church where I presently serve, I have continued to look for ways to improve the work flow and the environment both in our church office and with our volunteers.  Communication has greatly increased, calendars, forms, and other necessary paperwork are increasingly being organized in a way that makes them easily available through our website or our office.  One of my major tasks is to keep our staff and volunteers flowing with the vision of the church. I attempt to accomplish this in a practical way, by organizing and implementing systems that streamline and improve both our quality and our speed, so that ministry can happen.
